David and the giant Goliath

1 Samuel 17:47

“and that all this assembly may know that the LORD doesn't save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hand."”

Goliath was a huge giant with armor and a heavy spear. Every day he mocked God's people, and all the soldiers were afraid of him. David was only a young shepherd, but he trusted God. He said: I will fight the giant! He didn't want to wear armor. He picked five smooth stones from the stream and took his sling. He told Goliath: you come with a sword, but I come in the name of the Lord! He swung the sling, the stone hit the giant's forehead, and Goliath fell.
